Chinchilla
Famous for its melons and a renowned spot for fossicking, fishing and camping, the colourful town of Chinchilla is an easy drive 81km west of Dalby along the Warrego Highway.
The ‘Melon Capital’ of Australia produces 25 percent of the country’s watermelons, rockmelons and honeydew melons and celebrates its status with the biennial Melon Festival.
