Day 4: Goondiwindi to Toowoomba (2 hours 30 minutes)

Wave goodbye to Goondiwindi and make your way northeast to Toowoomba, the Garden City. Keep your eyes peeled as you head towards Toowoomba – you might be lucky enough to spot seas of sunflowers lining the roads. It’s an Insta-worthy scene that’ll have you pulling over for a quick snap or two. These golden beauties are a true sign you’ve left the city behind.

When the heat kicks in, cool off with a visit to the Queensland Museum Cobb+Co. It’s more than just a history lesson — this spot will take you on a journey through Queensland’s past, all while you’re chilling in the air-con. Perfect!

Come evening, take a slow stroll through Queens Park or one of Toowoomba’s famous gardens. There’s something about being surrounded by flowers that makes the pace of life slow right down.

Day 5: Toowoomba to Bunya Mountains (1 hour 30 minutes)

Today, it’s off to the cooler heights of the Bunya Mountains. With summer temps rarely cracking 27°C, this is the perfect escape. As you wind your way up the mountain, the air gets fresher, and you’ll feel the hustle of the city melt away.
